We release various chemicals into the indoor environment during our daily activities. Have you considered that our daily clothing may be a pollutant emitter? Aromatic Amines (AAs) are notable sources of pollutants, especially indoors. AAs often occur in industrial chemicals, medicines, dyes & pigments, plastics, rubber, other polymers, and cooking activity. We will research the transport of aromatic amines, which are multiple indoor sources, through our clothes. This project aims at examining the aromatic amine in textiles. This project could be helpful for environmental awareness about Aromatic Amines and their pathways.
The basic steps of the project will be:
1. Collecting different textile materials and determining which aromatic amine compounds they contain.
2. Analyzing the concentrations of aromatic amines in indoor environments using textile as a passive sampler.
A student could choose both or only one step. Students will design the project based on their interests.
